Plant list E

Echinacea purpurea
Not exactly tropical but a late season flowering, largely self supporting plant.  Popular with beneficial insects.  Works well with more spiky elements in the garden.
Echinocactus grusonii
An amusing barrel cactus for the container garden. Easy from seed.
Echium pininiana
Typically biannual, this strange plant is probably more useful in creating an exotic feel in its first season.  Worth having.
Ensete ventricosum
A cool tropical garden without a large one of these just isn't the same.
Eriobotrya japonica
I rather like this plant.  Evergreen tropical-looking tree or shrub.  Easily grown from supermarket fruit (Loquat)
Eryngium agavifolium
Not quite as drought tolerant as its appearance suggests.  A spiky plant easily grown from seed, let down by its flowers.
Eschscholitzia californica
Experimented with this when searching for continuous flowering plants.  Better suited to a Mediterranean feel than tropical.
Euphorbia mellifera
Often touted as a suitable plant for tropical feel gardens.  Not very tropical in appearance but quite an attractive plant.  Easy from seed, looks a little weedy when grown in a pot.
